O Instagram gathers all the requests to follow pending sent by you in the backup file of your account. These requests refer to follow-up requests that are not approved and not reviewed by private profiles on the social network.
With a list of requests sent on Instagram, it is easier to discover that there is no oil in your request to follow and take an attitude in relation to this, such as removing the request.
The Instagram app for Android and iPhone does not have a section to display pending requests. In this way, the easiest solution is to use a computer to download the backup file and extract these information. See the complete tutorial to follow.
1. Access Instagram Settings
Access Instagram.com The computer and the login screen are available on your account. Click the “More” button on the bottom left edge of the fabric (icon with three horizontal ridges). Next, click on the “Settings” option.
2. Access to Account Center
Click on the “See More at Central de Contas” option in the “Central de Contas” area.
3. Click on “Your information and permissions”
Click on the “Your information and permissions” option, in the “Account settings” section, to continue with the process to request a backup of Instagram.
4. Select “Download your information”
In the “Your Information and Permissions” section, on the right side of the fabric, select the “Download Your Information” option.
5. Click on “Request a download”
In the pop-up menu “Download your information”, click the “Request a download” button.
6. Select the Instagram profile where you want to see the submitted requests
Check the Instagram profile where you intend to make a backup of information. Next, click the blue “Advance” button.
7. Select “Select the types of information”
Click on the “Select the types of information” option to continue with the backup request of your Instagram account. Thus, you can obtain the details of the requests to continue pending more quickly.
If you choose “Full Copy”, the process will take longer due to the file size. For example, Meta will gather all the data from your non-Instagram profile – including all published photos and videos.
8. Check “Followers and following” and tap on “Advance”
Scroll down to find the “Followers and Following” option in the “Connections” area. Check the category to know that it does not respond to your requests to follow on Instagram. Then click the blue “Advance” button.
9. Set the data interval for “From or Start” to download all pending requests
Click on “Data Interval” and then select the “From or Start” option. Next, click the blue “Save” button at the bottom of the fabric.
10. Complete the backup file request
Confirm that the displayed email address is correct, the link to download the Instagram backup file will be directed to that address. Do not check the “Format” and “Media Quality” options. Then, touch the blue “Submit Request” button.
If it runs correctly, a screen will show information about or “Download pending” the information requested by you.
11. Access the Instagram message received in your email
Check out the Instagram message that will check the registered email. Open the email from the social network of photos and videos using a computer and click on the link with the phrase “download information”.
12. Download the Instagram backup file
Você will be redirected to the Central de Contas da Meta. Click the “Download” button and click on the Instagram that you are doing or backup. Then, touch the blue “Continue” button to download the file.
Important: The backup file is available for download for only 4 days.
13. Decompress the Instagram backup file
Access the downloads from your computer and search for a .zip file. In general, it will be named as the Instagram name, its username and download data separated by lines. For example: “instagram-tecnoblog-2024-01-01”.
In Windows, unzip the file by clicking on the top of the file with the right mouse button. Next, select the “Open with” option and select the app of your choice for that purpose. For example, or WinRar.
If you use Windows 11 or Mac, just click twice to open the compacted file with the Instagram backup.
14. Access the “follower_and_following” paste of the Instagram backup
Open/unzip the Instagram backup file and click on the “connections” file. Next, open “follower_and_following”.
15. Open the “pending_follow_requests” file to see the submitted requests
Find the HTML file “pending_follow_requests” and click twice to open the document in your current browser. Then, a list will reveal all the requests to follow that are pending on Instagram.
Can you see the follow requests sent on Instagram on your cell phone?
The mobile application and the web version of Instagram do not have an area with a list of requests to follow that are pending. The only way to see this information is by downloading the backup file from the Meta Accounts Central.
Can I know if people can refuse my request to follow Instagram?
Instagram does not send a notification when people refuse your request to continue. Now, you can visit the user's profile again and the “Follow” button will appear, possibly your request has been denied.
Is it possible to cancel a request to continue sending it on Instagram?
