In the press conference prior to the meeting that will assume the FC Barcelona this Monday April 10 against the Girona for matchday 28 of La Liga, the coach from Barcelona Xavi Hernández referred to the current situation of Pedri and Ousmane Dembélé, two of their four players injured.

When asked by the press about not calling up these players, Xavi said: “The sensations are not good, this is about sensations and they were excited to participate but we do not want to take any risk. The progress they have will mark their return”.

Dembélé has missed almost all the games in 2023 after being injured on January 28 against Girona. Meanwhile. Pedri is going through a similar situation, having been out since February 16 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League playoffs.

The truth is that for the moment, Xavi has not given good signs of a speedy recovery for both players. On the other hand, the appearances that could occur on the next day are those of Andreas Christensen and Frenkie de Jong.

The Barça team will look for a victory that will allow them to get the real Madrid a 15-point advantage in the leaderboard of The Santander League, the only competition in which he is still alive after being eliminated from the Copa del Rey last week.
