WWE held Payback on Saturday night from Pittsburgh.
Becky Lynch defeats Trish Stratus in a Cage Match. After the match Trish Stratus expresses her anger at Zoey Stark, who was trying to help her to her feet. Given this, Stark decided to apply her finisher against the veteran superstar to later leave the ring.
John Cena makes his arrival in the ring and addresses the public. The 16-time world champion affirms that it is a pride to be a host for the first time in the company, until The Miz interrupts him. Miz recognizes Cena as the best of all time, but emphasizes that as a host he sucks. John admits that Miz has more to go, so he asks for his advice for tonight.
The Miz reminds him that he should not have rejected the main role of Barbie, to which the entire public is amazed. John Cena asks him for advice again and Miz tells him that he should not have been the referee of his fight against LA Knight, especially since he does not have a shirt. Cena shows him one and Knight quickly makes his entrance, so the fight begins.
With Cena as referee, LA Knight defeats The Miz. Both Miz and Knight had run-ins with Cena. After the victory, there was a bit of tension between Knight and Cena, but in the end they celebrated together.
Rey Mysterio retains the United States Championship against Austin Theory.
The Judgment Day (Damian Priest and Finn Bálor) defeat Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in a Steel City Street fight and are the new Undisputed Tag Team Champions. This match was filled with highlights, including interventions by Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley throwing Owens through the barricade at ringside.
After a very close match in which even Owens bled, Zayn hit an Exploder and a Helluva Kick on Balor, but Dom hit Zayn with the MITB briefcase. Balor rolled Zayn and got 1-2-3.
We got the Grayson Waller Effect with Cody Rhodes, Waller begins the show in a sarcastic tone based on the public present in the arena and then gives Cody a pass. The American Nightmare asks the audience what they want to talk about, to which Waller asks them to be direct and tell him the announcement in one go.
Cody agrees and gives way to Jey Uso, who makes his return to WWE and announces that he will now be on Monday Night Raw.
Waller said that Jey hasn’t done anything with his career and mocked Jey for thinking he will be important on Mondays. As Waller spoke, Jey super kicked Waller to the ground. Rhodes watched from the ramp gratefully.
Rhea Ripley retains the Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodríguez after Dominik’s intervention.
In the star, Seth Rollins retains the World Heavyweight Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a close fight after hitting the Stomp.
