The selection of The United States once again gave a strong image in a friendly match by beating the Oman team 4-0 this Tuesday during the meeting held in St. Paul, Minnesota.
With a squad in which youth prevailed and again with coach Gregg Berhalter on the bench, the United States overwhelmed weak Oman just as they had done last Saturday when they also beat Uzbekistan 3-0.
The scoring quota was provided by Folarin Balogun, Brenden Aaronson, Ricardo Pepi and an own goal by defender Khaled Al Breikiwhich sealed the beating to give greater confidence to the Stars and Stripes squad.
The meeting was marked by the return of Berhalter to the bench, who was marked by an altercation from more than 20 years ago, which led him to present his resignation, in a problem in which the talented winger Giovanni Reyna was also involved.
Once the chapter was over, Berhalter was happy leading a team that was composed from the beginning by its main figures: Christian Pulisic, Timothy Weah, Weston McKennie and Yunus Musah, who took the team to the lead just after 13 minutes courtesy of of Balogun.
Aaronson then debuted his scoring quota after jumping off the bench and the victory was sealed with Pepi’s goal in the 79th minute and Al Breiki’s own goal near the end.
After the successful FIFA date Now the United States will face the teams of Germany and Ghana in Octoberwhich promise a higher level of demand to which the players were subjected in this pair of friendlies.
