Spain opens its path in the Nations League with a difficult match in Belgrade against Serbia (Thursday 8 September at 8.45pm). The Euro champions are also the champions of this Nations League, so they defend the title won against Croatia in the penalty shoot-out in the 2023 edition. Luis de la Fuente’s team will have its great stars for this match, such as Nico Williams or Lamine Yamal, to whom players such as Yeremy Pino, Pepelu or Mingueza have been added. Spain is in Group IV of the First Division of the Nations League together with Serbia itself, Denmark and Switzerland. A difficult group, but where Spain is the favourite to advance to the next phase.
The top two teams in the group qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition, which will be played in March 2025 with a two-legged tie. Those who advance will play the final four in June 2025.
