It seems that Manchester United could lose another player involved in controversy. Brazilian Antony dos Santos faces two other complaints from two other women who claimed to have been attacked by the winger of the Premier League team.
The Brazilian media Extra reported this Thursday that a woman named Rayssa de Freitas filed a police report against Antony on May 20, 2022 after allegedly being attacked in an encounter with the player. Another woman, identified as Ingrid Lana, also reported that Antony tried to have sexual relations with her and pushed her against a wall when he visited her home in England almost a year ago.
The 23-year-old footballer is being investigated by Brazilian authorities and Greater Manchester police after his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin reported that she was attacked on different occasions by Antony between June 2022 and May of this year.
The player, who was dropped from the Brazilian team for this month’s international matches, denied the allegations.
“From the beginning I have handled this issue with seriousness and respect, providing the necessary clarifications to the police authority.”he said in a statement issued on his social media accounts.
Manchester United refused to comment on the latest allegations against Antony, but said in a statement that they are “taking this matter seriously, taking into account the impact of these and subsequent accusations”. reporting will have on survivors of abuse.”
