The band Tulsa, led by the artist Miren Iza (Hondarribia, 45 years old) has been awarded the National Prize for Current Music. With this project, the justification of the award continues, the artist “culminates a career of enormous influence on Spanish music in recent years thanks to a unique and personal way of composing and singing.” The ruling also recognizes Tulsa’s role as a creator, which “has marked several generations of bands and artists, often working outside the media spotlight and creating from absolute independence.” Amadorain its stage translation, had the collaboration of María Velasco, this year’s winner of the National Dramatic Literature.
