Remains of a woman found nearly a year after she went missing in Missourireported the authorities, according to various local and national media.
Kansas City police said that the skeletal and human remains of 22-year-old Abbi Schaeffer were discovered on April 1 after officers responded to an area near 95th Street and Blue River Road, they reported. KCTV5 and KHSB41.
Schaeffer was reported missing on June 2, 2022, police previously reported in a Facebook post.
According to reports, Schaeffer was last seen on May 23, 2022. and was captured on doorbell camera footage just before she disappeared.
Police and her relatives said at the time that they were “concerned for her safety and well-being.”
Authorities are now calling the case a “death investigation,” according to some of the media reports cited.
His cause and manner of death have yet to be determined by the local medical examiner’s office.
This report comes on the same day that the relatives of Alinka Castañeda, a 16-year-old girl who has been missing in California since January 1, said they believe the teenager was a victim of sex trafficking.
Information released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department indicates that Castañeda was last seen on that date, at around 5 am, while entering a parked car in the 23000 block S. Caroldale Ave., in the city of Carson, on the outside of your home.
The city in Los Angeles County is offering a $100,000 reward for tips leading to Castañeda’s whereabouts.
