Researchers from the technology center of Catalonia eurecat have designed and developed a digital app is left over personal health and wellness tips personalized at old people and that they make known on the occasion of tomorrow’s celebration of World Health Day.
The application, called ‘Carpe Diem Virtual Coach’, intends, according to its promoters, encourage healthy habits of the elderly and accompany active aging and the care for dependent people also from a preventive point of view.
As explained by the head of research in Integrated Care of the Eurecat Digital Health Unit, Silvia Orte, using technology based on artificial intelligence of the Become system, the application, which will begin to launch on the Maresme region, gives personalized recommendations to users.
Orte has highlighted that the application “favors empowerment of people to take care of their health thanks to a double personalization, both of the content that it offers them and of the interaction with the user with various strategies and times adapted to display the information”.
“It’s like having a personal trainer always available and prepared to help, who gives tailor-made advice and at the same time collects new information”, the researcher explained.
The application has been developed by Eurecat within the framework of the Mataró-Maresme pect in a project coordinated by the Mataró Town Hall and has the participation of the TechnoCampus Foundation, the Sant Jaume and Santa Magdalena Hospital Foundation, the El Maresme Foundation and the Maresme Health Consortium, the El Maresme County Council and the ICT Social Health Foundation.
