A group of artists has met this Friday to create a giant altarpiece that captures the most exciting moments of the Passion of Christ in the dunes of the town of Oruro, in Bolivia. It is an annual event in the Andean country that has already become a spectacle that attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world during Holy Week. The work will maintain its physical integrity as long as the icy winds from the altiplano continue to blow in the area. A total of 250 creators from Bolivia, Peru and Argentina have collaborated to raise 25 sculptures, most with religious motifs, in the Cochiraya sand, 190 kilometers south of La Paz.
