The Majorcan pop quintet has announced that “tanca sa blind” after more than ten years of experience. The group, which has released four albums, has announced a tour that will occupy the remainder of the year to make this farewell more palatable, and which will conclude with two special concerts, one in Palma on December 29 and another at the Apolo venue in Barcelona. on January 26 of next year. “We are very satisfied and proud of the camí fet, but we also need to turn the page,” says the formation in the note sent to the press.
Born as a quartet with one foot in Mallorca and the other in Barcelona, Da Souza was born under the influence of Agustí Simó da Souza, a Mallorcan of Brazilian origin whom Cabot met in Raval during the group’s formative years, a football coach who acted as guru for the band
Since its inception, Da Souza has been led by singer-songwriter Lluís Cabot (guitar and vocals), together with Àngel Garau (drums), Xavi Hernández (guitar), Biel Stela (bass) and Guillem Portell (sax and percussion). His record debut dates back to 2013 with the EP world paufollowed the same year by the long-playing Flowers and violence.
