This Friday, the Barcelona Court exonerated the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, of the “Negreira case”, concluding that the payments to the then vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), made between 2008 and 2010, have expired. In an order, the 21st section of the Barcelona Court has upheld the appeal presented by Laporta and has revoked the decision of the investigating judge to investigate him for Barcelona’s payments to Enríquez Negreira, during his previous term as president of the Barça club.

The previous week, that same section of the Barcelona Court had already annulled the accusations against Laporta for the alleged crime of bribery, which the investigator had carried out on those investigated for the case, by ruling out that Enríquez Negreira could be considered a public official.
