The Mexican winger Jesús “Tecatito” Corona took the microphones this Saturday to talk about what will be his return to Liga MX with Rayados de Monterrey after almost 10 years of absence, remaining at the cream of European football.
At a press conference Tecatito Corona said that in addition to feeling happy to return to his country, he hopes to return to the highest level he showed in the old continent. with Porto from Portugal and with Sevilla from Spain.
“I’m very good, I come to show my best level, just like the one I had in Porto and Sevilla,” said Corona during his presentation day.
The one born in Hermosillo Sonora, who debuted for Monterrey in 2010, emigrated to European football in 2013 hired by FC Twente of the Eredivisie.
In 2016 he moved to Porto, a team in which he won three league titles, two super cups and a Cup tournament. In 2021 he signed with Sevilla, with whom he was until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Although he was a Sevilla player, He was not part of the Europa League champion squad because he was not registered for said tournament due to an injury he suffered last year.which prevented him from being part of the Mexican team that played in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
“I had a complicated injury from which I could not recover. I was doing very well with Sevilla, unfortunately that injury came, but today I am ready to return to the level I had,” he explained.
Corona stressed that At 30 years old, he returns to Mexican soccer with the advantage that comes from having spent a decade at the highest level..
“I’ve been away for 10 years, I went to Europe very young, I took the risk of having that dream that left me with a lot of experience. I return with great international contact, not everyone achieves that. I know how to make better decisions, I learned all that in Europe,” he highlighted.
The forward was pleased to return to the team that opened the doors to professionalism, with which he won a league title and three Concacaf Champions Leagues.
“I am very happy to return home. I had been wanting to return for a couple of years. I feel much more eager to continue succeeding as I did in Europe. I want to win a lot of things in Monterrey, I’m not one to talk a lot, I prefer to show it on the court,” she pointed out.
