Switzerland and Italy face each other this afternoon in the first match of the last 16 of the European Championship. Both teams are looking to be the first quarter-finalists of the tournament at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, a round they already reached in the previous edition, which ended with the Azzurri being crowned and in which the Swiss team managed to knock out France in the last 16. Italy is far from its best form: it suffered a defeat against Spain in which it was clearly inferior, it came back against Albania and it drew against Croatia when the match was about to end. Switzerland has five points in the group stage and has not yet known what it is to lose: it beat Hungary and drew against Scotland and Germany.
