South Carolina authorities arrested a suspect for allegedly being involved in a shooting that occurred on the campus of the Medical University of SCaccording to a report from ABC 4 News.

The suspect was identified as 31-year-old Samuel White, who was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and carrying a weapon on school property.

A spokesman for the Medical University of South Carolina, identified as Carter Coyle, said the investigation is still ongoing. because another individual who was also involved in the event must still be arrested.

Fortunately, during the shooting no one was injured.

University staff set up metal detectors at the campus entrance to strengthen security and ensure the integrity of all facility personnel.as well as students and teachers.

In addition, Carter Coyle indicated that other security measures will be taken to ensure the safety of employees and patients.

Among these measures is positioning security officers to assist in the operation of metal detectors.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday., in the McClennan Banks parking lot. University security officials responded immediately to what happened.

Security cameras showed a person wearing a purple coat, blue pants and crocs.

The university authorities have asked the public for information about the attackers, for which they have arranged the number 843-792-4196 to receive tips that help conclude the investigation.
