Without a doubt, two players who have set the standard in the NBA in the last 10 years are Stephen Curry and LeBron James. Both have met in 4 finals, so a friendly rivalry between the two stars was born.
However, despite this rivalry, there is a lot of respect between the two and recently in an interview on the Gilbert Arenas podcast, the Golden State Warriors player commented on a quality that he admires about “King” James, which is longevity and the ability to stay current despite the passage of time.
“I never imagined myself being a guy over 40 years old and that he would last over time. In that sense, I admire how LeBron James clings and is valid today “commented the base of the Warriors.
Curry arrived in the NBA in 2009 and since then has played 14 seasons with the Warriors jersey. He currently has three years left on his contract and for now he just wants to fulfill them and when the time comes he will make the decision if he will continue playing or retire at 38 years of age.
“I don’t put too many terms out of my contract now, I just know that that will give me 38 and 17 years in the league. But who knows what my body will look or feel like in that moment? I have three years left on my contract, including at least that, and then I’ll figure it out from there,” Steph analyzed.
On the other hand, Curry affirmed that in a certain way he already feels very lucky to be part of a legacy like that of Golden State, which won four NBA rings in the last 10 years.
“I feel blessed to be a part of this legacy, to play for a franchise and to be part of that group of legends who accomplished that feat and I hope it doesn’t matter how many years I play.”closed the star of the Gold State Warriors.
In addition to his four NBA championship rings, Curry has won individual awards such as the MVP of the 2015 and 2016 seasons, nine All Star Games and recently became the top three-pointer in NBA history with 3,385 three-pointers.
