A stampede broke out during an art festival in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Sunday. There are reports of injuries to 11 people. According to the police, the incident took place at the Shiv Mandir Kala Mahotsav in Ambernath organized by Kalyan MP and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s son Shrikant Shinde.

Senior Inspector AS Bhagat of Shivaji Nagar police station said that many people wanted to enter the venue at the same time, leading to a stampede-like situation. He said that more than 11 people were injured and have been admitted to a local hospital.
