The second week of the European Swimming Championships in Belgrade (Serbia) has started in the best way for the Spanish delegation. After the four gold medals in artistic swimming – technical team, technical solo and the two modalities in mixed duo – and the bronze medal in open water – Candela Sánchez in the 25km -, Valeria Antolino, Carlos Camacho and Juan Pablo Cortés have risen to the top of the podium in mixed jumping team with 367.65 points. Despite being the only team made up of three participants and not four, they have prevailed over their rivals after their good performances in the last rounds on the 10-meter platform. The silver was won by Ukraine – Danylo Avanesov, Stanislav Oliferchyk, Karina Hlyzhina and Anna Pysmenska – with 357,000 points and Germany – Carolina Coordes, Jana Lisa Rother, Lou Massenberg and Luis Carlo Ávila – closed the podium with 352.30.

With this achievement, the mixed team surpasses its previous marks at the European Games in Poland in 2023, when they only achieved bronze. This is the first of the thirteen finals in the jumping modality that will be held from this Monday to Sunday the 23rd, when the European Championships in Belgrade will close. A short final, with only six participating teams, very young jumpers and some absences of big stars. All this within the framework of an unusual European week. In the swimming events – 43 finals from Monday to Sunday – neither the Netherlands, France or Italy have attended the championship. Like Spain, which has prioritized the Open Astrapool Olympic Trial Mallorca, or other countries, which participate with young swimmers.

Absences of big names, with very young participants and teams that have not brought their great Olympic stars due to the proximity between the celebration of the European Championship and the Paris Games – which will begin in five weeks – or the coincidence of dates with the events of Olympic teams from various countries. Diving and swimming events will close the continental championship this week. In the first case, Spain has the participation of Carlos Camacho, Jorge Rodríguez, Valeria Antolino, Ana Carvajal, Max Liñán, Juan Pablo Cortés and Nicolás García Boissier. The big absence is that of Adrián Abadía, who is not participating in the European Championship for personal reasons. A few weeks before the Paris Olympic Games, the Spanish swimming delegation continues to win medals.
