Netflix put a stop to shared accounts by establishing new control rules. Since then, customers who now do not live in the same household can be incorporated as extra subscribers, but paying their corresponding fee; and subscribers to the standard and premium plans can add one or two non-residents to the main location.
With this new system, it is now more important than ever to keep track of the devices that connect throughout the day. This is possible thanks to the option provided by the application under the name ‘Manage access and devices’, which shows information about the devices that are logged in and that have recently been used to watch Netflix.
This option not only allows you to keep an internal control, to know which known devices have been connected throughout the day, but it is also useful to guarantee the security of the account against possible user theft or other improper use.
How to know if someone is signed in with your Netflix account
Netflix explains that it was a highly requested option by users and that it is available to subscribers around the world on the web and on iOS and Android devices.
“Not all devices connected to the account will appear. For example, those without recent viewing activity, other relevant information, or when there are too many devices to fit on the page,” the platform points out in its help center.
Specifically, three questions are shown: the type of device that has been used to play content; the profile most recently used to play content on streaming on the device; and the last viewed, which shows the date and time that each device has used the application.
You can access ‘Manage access and devices’ by following the steps below:
Go to Netflix.
Click on “Page settings”
In “Account” you will see the devices where there have been recent views with your account. You can close the session in which you want with a click.
