What is Electric Lady Studios
The release party for ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ was held at Electric Lady Studioslocated in New York.
This study is known for having been founded by music legend Jimi Hendrix in 1970, although this project was enjoyed for a short time by the guitarist. He died on September 18, 1970.
This studio was built in a place that was previously known as The Generationa club that closed in 1967. Shortly after, Hendrix had the idea of reopening the place and bought the property.
The initial project idea changed shortly after, as Hendrix was just investing a lot of money in the studio to record the album ‘Electric Ladyland’. He and his manager, Michael Jeffery, came up with the idea of converting the space into their own recording studio.
People say that The making of Electric Lady Studios took a long time.double what was planned, and that meant that its creator only enjoyed the space for four weeks.
However, the place has stood the test of time and has opened its doors to multiple stars. Some of them are: Kiss, Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Horses, Weezer and Charly García and many other stars of more recent generations.
