Rumor: Sam Raimi would be the main option to direct Avengers: Secret Wars – The USA Print

All the Marvel universes and franchises are going to collide under the exceptional gaze of Sam Raimi, or at least that’s what the studio hopes. A new report claims that the director of Spider-Man – 89% is the top choice of Kevin Feige and his collaborators to direct Avengers: Secret Warsthe sixth installment of the superhero franchise and the one that could lead to some of the craziest crossovers in cinema.

According to the insider My Time to Shine HelloMarvel Studios has its sights on sam raimi to direct Avengers: Secret Wars. Officially, only the title of this sixth installment of The Avengers is known, but since its announcement, numerous rumors have circulated about the plans that the production company has for this story that will conclude the divisive saga of the multiverse that has cost so much to get off the ground among the pandemic and now the Hollywood strikes.

As you know, Raimi is a veteran of the genre. It’s because of the great work he did on Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy that Feige sought him out for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Having a filmmaker with such experience would certainly be a tremendous relief to producers who want to have to a connoisseur in charge of the project. But perhaps this also reinforces the wildest rumors about the movie.

What is Avengers: Secret Wars going to be about?

According to reports from the same insider, Marvel’s plan is that Avengers: Secret Wars tell how heroes from past franchises, or other universes following the internal logic of the MCU, confront Kang and deal with the incursions caused by timeline travel left unguarded after the events of Loki – 96% For this film, the studio wants both Maguire and Andrew Garfield back, as well as Fox’s X-Men.

Clearly, there is nothing left to speculate. As far as is known, there isn’t even a finished script for Secret Wars. And with the writers’ strike still in effect, it all looks even more difficult to pull off. Furthermore, hardly any director wants to join a project of which there is not at least a finished draft. So there is nothing left to do but wait and see what results from this attempt to truly throw the public fully into the multiverse.

Avengers: Secret Wars has a release date set for May 2027, but strikes could certainly stand in the way of meeting such a release. For now, we will see more about the consequences of travel between the multiverse in the second season of Loki, the next Marvel title that will arrive on Disney Plus starting on October 6. Patience is a virtue and certainly one that fans of this saga will have to master before learning more about the plans for the conclusion of phase 6 of the franchise.
