Carlos Alcaraz will not compete in the Rome Masters 1000, which begins next week, having suffered from the problems he has had in his right arm since returning from Miami at the end of March. The 20-year-old from Murcia could not compete in Monte Carlo or Barcelona, although later he did in Madrid. In the Caja Mágica he managed to overcome three rounds, until he met the Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals.

“I felt pain after playing in Madrid, discomfort in my arm. Today I had some tests and I have muscle edema in the pronator teres, a consequence of my last injury. Unfortunately I won’t be able to play in Rome. I need rest to recover and be able to play 100% pain-free,” the tennis player wrote in his X profile.
