Resultados de AEW Battle of The Belts VI de 07 de abril

Exactly three months have passed since I held the last AEW Battle of The Belts event and tonight, after AEW Rampage, said event returned. Last night we had three starting matches in which the AEW International Championship, the TBS Women’s Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championships were put at stake. Next, we will comment on the results of AEW BOTB.

Results of AEW Battle of The Belts VI of April 07, 2023

  • Orange Cassidy, accompanied by The Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) defeats Dralistico, accompanied by Los Ingobernables (Rush, “Perro Peligroso” Preston Vance and José El Asistente) after applying an Orange Punch to him. In this way, Orange Cassidy retains the AEW International Championship.
  • After the match, the lights went dark and the House of Black appeared on the giant screen. In it, we could see Malakai Black congratulating Orange Cassidy on his victory, but stating that Cassidy’s defeat with Best Friends in the past AEW Dynamite is eating him up inside. Following this, the leader of the House of Black assured that they have not yet finished with the champion.

After that, Malakai Black gives way to his faithful companion, Buddy Matthews. The latter told Orange that he feels so big that it is like putting his title at stake. Therefore, Buddy Matthews challenges Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship to which Cassidy just watches them.

  • Backstage, Jay Lethal speaks from the heart to one of his great friends and rivals, Mark Briscoe. Lethal told him that how is it possible that they have never been able to join forces to work together and more so being good friends. At this, Mark Briscoe wins over his hunch and accepts Jay Lethal’s idea. However, it all seemed like a trap, as Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh ended up showing up to celebrate the union. Therefore, Mark Briscoe was tricked and is now supposedly with the group of Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.
  • Jade Cargill, accompanied by Mark Sterling and Leila Gray, defeats Billie Starkz, who debuted for the first time on AEW open television. Jade applies her famous move called “The Jaded” to retain the TBS Women’s Championship.

However, the challenger did not play an embarrassing role, quite the contrary, since she was at the height of the fight offering various attacks and counterattacks to the champion. It was a level comparable to the past AEW Battle of The Belts where Jade Cargill faced Skye Blue and the latter had a remarkable performance to the point of being one of the best fights of the young talent in AEW.

  • After the match, Taya Valkyrie walks to the ring in the form of a provocation to Jade Cargill. The champion comes out of it and tries to attack Taya with her championship, but she dodges and hits her and then brings her into the ring. Finally, Jade Cargill manages to escape and leaves with Mark Sterling and Leila Grey.
  • In an interview, Brandon Cutler and Michale Nakazawa spoke out about the brutal attack that The Elite is receiving at the hands of the Blackpool Combat Club. Given this, Cutler mentioned that it is enough and he does not intend to stay on the ground. Therefore, he plans to get up, face implant without ducking it and behave like an Elite.
  • In the Main Event, The Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix and Penta Zero Miedo), accompanied by Alex Abrahantes, defeat QT Marshall and Powerhouse Hobbs, accompanied by Aaron Solo and Harley Cameron. In this way, Los Lucha Brothers retains the ROH World Tag Team Championships in a surprisingly good stellar match to end the event.
