They have played three games in their league and have only won one. Madrid, the champions of the competition, are the first Spanish team to take part in the competition. They will be followed by Barcelona, Girona and Atlético.
The Champions League will be the only European competition to be played this week and has a new format compared to previous editions.
Next week there will be a midweek LaLiga matchday and the following week the full European matchday will be played with the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League.
