Quickie: ‘Sálvame’ is now reinventing itself as a social media channel | Television

First it was a live programme, a whole franchise that filled hours of Telecinco and Mediaset programming. Then it was converted into a docureality on Netflix in six recorded episodes. And now the team and collaborators of Save me take another step towards the world of social media and video platforms, where they will return to live broadcasts starting May 6 through a video channel. streaming own that can be seen on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitch and X.

The option chosen by the production company Fabricantes Studio, the former Fábrica de la Tele, is a channel called Quickie that its managers define as “the first channel in streaming live and free dedicated to current affairs and television.” This will be the space where the program will be broadcast, from Monday to Friday. The new program, the producer announces, will take advantage of this milestone to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this television universe headed by Jorge Javier Vázquez, still linked to Mediaset and current presenter of SurvivorsThis time, the presenter will be María Patiño, who took the reins of the mother program on several occasions, including in its final broadcasts. David Valldeperas, one of the most recognizable directors and who also took the reins of the adaptation on Netflix, takes the controls again. The docuseries was left hanging with a final message that was read by the sad-faced collaborators and was never revealed to the audience. Perhaps it has been its most enduring hook, now that it seems clear that they have not reached the established objectives and there will be no new episodes.

This first contact will, however, be a kind of test: “We are aware of the complexity involved in transferring a universe and a narrative that was born on TV to a digital environment. For the moment we will start with a two-month test period (May and June) to then adjust and return in September when summer is over,” explains Óscar Cornejo, producer and director of Fabricantes, in the press release about Quickie, which takes its name from its speed and which it defines as a “pocket channel,” although they have not yet revealed what other content can be found there.
