Trust plays an important role in customer decisions about what to buy and where to buy. We review the most trusted American grocery stores based on a survey of 25,000 consumers.
In addition to looking for the most convenient prices, many consumers want the grocery store to have fresh products and safe food handling. Service and customer care are also a point to consider.
Publix is the most trusted store
Although Publix has stores only within the country, Publix is the supermarket chain that ranks first as the most trusted grocery store in the United States, according to the survey by Newsweek and market research firm Statista.
The survey analyzed 3,100 companies from different categories, from automobile manufacturing and sales to food and beverage manufacturers. 33 grocery stores and convenience stores were included in the list of trustworthy companies.
Florida-based Publix emerged in 1930. Sell in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia.
According to the chain’s “Where Shopping is a Pleasure” website, they are “dedicated to customer service and community involvement, and being a great place to work and shop.”
Idaho-based WinCo Foods and Cincinnati-based Kroger Co. were also top spots on the list, ranking second and third, respectively.
