Gian Pablo Polito Sculco was always interested in the arts, but for years he did not think he would dedicate himself to them. Although he graduated as a Publicist and Graphic Designer, he had had to take charge of a family business, a brass and painting workshop.
It wasn’t until the moment his youngest son was born that he decided it was time to return to his passion. After several years dedicated to painting he began to venture into sculpture and there he was most successful.
He is known for being a sculptor of fun pieces. Gian Pablo Polito Sculco already had the opportunity to represent Venezuela at the 10th Biennial of Florence, Italy in 2915, “A wonderful experience that sometimes I can’t even believe.” He had not held his first solo exhibition when he was already rubbing shoulders with the greats.
Gian Pablo Polito Sculco says “I search in the intimate part of the human being, the childish, those childhood memories that one never sees forget, the joys, the toys and the flavors that you treasure for the rest of your life.”
When talking about trends, he emphasizes that he prefers not to be labeled in a specific one. “I don’t like labels, I really enjoy my work and now suddenly I’m into Pop Art and in three years it will surely cause me to create something different and I would do it anyway.” He wants to continue growing and continue making his work known to the world.
