Arturo Pérez-Reverte He has done it again. The writer has sparked the debate in X after writing a tweet about the three Spaniards murdered a few days ago in Afghanistan. This past weekend, the RAE academic rescued a text that he published in 2014 to highlight the danger of traveling to the Asian country, and there are those who continue to react to his position.

“There are too many adventurers convinced that real life is like in the movies. Or, as too many do-gooders, dupes and fools seem to think, that all human beings share the good vibes regarding the sacredness of human life.” The journalist, who for years worked as a war reporter, rescued these words from his publication.

His words generated all kinds of reactions. What stands out, for example, is that of a follower who blames him for “This is not the time to dig into the wound”to which the journalist answers that it is “quite the opposite, it is precisely the moment.”

Last Friday it was learned that three Spaniards were murdered in an attack in the city of Bamiyan, capital of the homonymous province of Afghanistan. They belonged to a group of 13 tourists who arrived from Kabul the day before to visit one of the main tourist centers of the Asian country until the arrival of the Taliban. “The 13 tourists came from Kabul last day and were attacked in the bazaar of Bamiyan city by unknown gunmen,” he told Efe the provincial director of Information and Culture, Safiullah Rayed.
