The Paris 2024 Olympic Games officially kick off this Saturday, after the inauguration was celebrated yesterday Friday with a spectacular parade along the River Seine with performances by Lady Gaga and Céline Dion and the participation of the French footballer Zinedine Zidane and the Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal carrying the Olympic flame. Finally, it was two Frenchmen, the athlete Marie-José Perec and the judoka Teddy Riner, who lit the cauldron together. This Saturday the first judo events will be held, as well as the debut of tennis, swimming and men’s football. Yesterday was also marked by the “massive attack” suffered on three of the four major high-speed railway axes in France just hours before the inauguration.
