From August 3 to 11, a new edition of the Summer Festival will be held, under the motto “Vibrant and Sustainable Bogotá,” which seeks to break a new attendance record. The District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) expects that this year’s recreational, musical and cultural activities will bring together more than four million people in the different parks of the capital, where free events will be held to promote sports among children, adolescents and adults.
As every year, the festival coincides with the anniversary of the founding of the Colombian capital and the Battle of Boyacá, so more than 40 activities have been prepared to celebrate. Among the favorites are the Summer Night Cycle Route and the Kite Festival, although a Parisian Night has also been prepared in honor of France, the guest country in 2024.
