Major League Baseball released attendance in each stadium for the 2023 season and the numbers reveal the large number of people who accompanied their teams.
The new rules motivated fans to constantly go to enjoy the ball in the stadiums, many stadiums were completely sold out in consecutive series.
The best assists were:
Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles Dodgers: 3.5 million fans.
Yankee Stadium – New York Yankees: 3.0 million fans.
Petco Park – San Diego Padres: 3.0 million fans.
Busch Stadium – St. Louis Cardinals: 2.9 million fans.
It is surprising that Yankee Stadium, with the team’s terrible season, has the second best attendance in the entire Major Leagues.taking into account that since mid-year the Yankees had many problems qualifying.
The first four teams, on average, managed to have more than 40,000 people per game, while 17 clubs managed to be above 30,000 souls on their stages.
Tampa Bay Rays will have a new stadium
The Tampa Bay Rays will announce this Tuesday the completion of an agreement for a new stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida, according to a report in the Tampa Bay Times.
Construction of the 30,000-seat indoor stadium, which will open in 2028 and is estimated to cost more than $1.2 billion, appears to end speculation about the Tampa Bay Rays moving to another city.
The Tampa Bay Rays’ current 30-year lease at Tropicana Field ends in 2027, and the franchise had considered moving elsewhere, such as neighboring Tampa, amid consistently low attendance.
The new stadium will be part of a massive redevelopment of the city’s 86-acre gas plant districta project that also includes affordable housing, office space and retail in what was once a thriving black neighborhood of St. Petersburg.
