After the sweep in the series against Milwaukee Brewers the New York Mets debuted at home and recovered from the three defeats in a row this week, beating the miami marlins.
By the locals Tylor Megill opened the match, while the Florida ninth sent the Citi Field mound to Edward Cabrera; the scoring opened in the bottom of the third inning when Cabrera walked three consecutively to load the bases.
Despite getting two outs by way of strikeout, a fourth walk to mark canha allowed in the first run for the Mets and daniel vogelbach he hit a single to bring in the second.
At the end of the fourth inning, another lead run would come for the Mets in the legs of Tomás Nido who, from second base, took advantage of a long single from Pete Alonso to put the partial 3-0.
The Marlins didn’t wake up and in the sixth inning the New York team added one more to their account with a solitary homer from starling mars after two outs.
At the next offensive opportunity for the Mets they would make runs again. McNeil, Canha, and Tommy Pahm. they received walks and with the bases full Eduardo Escobar hit a ground ball by the shortstop and although they got the out at second, Canha scored on the run.
The sixth run for the Mets came from a sacrifice fly by Tomás Nido, although on the same play Escobar was thrown out at second and would end the inning.
Opening the eighth chapter was when the Marlins woke up and managed to make three runs, two walks prior to Luis Arraez and Jorge Soler for a subsequent home run of Garrett Cooper He brought the blackboard for the visitors.
But despite shortening the advantage, the local ninth team took off again thanks to the Dominican Francisco Lindor who dispatched a home run with Brandon Nimmo on board and the next turn Pete Alonso put the back to back with a solitary home run and thus leave definitive figures in the match.
With this victory the Mets return to winning waysthe one they lost in three straight games in Milwaukee and now they match their record with four wins and four losses at the start of the season.
