The Houston Rockets guard, Kevin Porter Jr., was arrested this Monday by New York authorities after he allegedly attacked his partner and WNBA member, Kysre Gondrezick, trying to choke her in an incident that occurred at the Millennium Hotel.

According to TMZ Sports portal reportswho had access to the alleged persons involved, the police received a 911 alert call around 7:00 am local time in which, after the officials went to the scene, they found that Porter Jr.’s partner had a bruise on her right eye and was covered in blood on her face.

Gondrezick’s statements indicated that The basketball player allegedly hit her repeatedly all over her body.being referred to a nearby health center for forensic examinations.

Sources consulted by the media indicated that the entire incident occurred after the woman was upset by the time Porter Jr. was on the street and locked the room where she was.

Upon returning to the hotel, Porter Jr. found himself unable to enter the room and after requesting help from the hotel staff upon entering, he had an argument with his partner that ended violently, with Gondrezick requesting help in the hallways of the building.

As of this writing, Porter Jr. is in prison on charges of strangulation and assault and it is unknown if bail will be available to be released. while the corresponding trial is being held.

Porter Jr.’s situation puts the Houston Rockets in a complicated situation ahead of the 2023-2024 NBA season, with the player as one of the fundamental pieces of the roster.

Since his debut in 2019, Porter Jr. has averaged almost 20 points per game (19.2) and a total of 5.2 assists during his stay with the Houston team and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
