Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup have chosen Mexico City to celebrate their second wedding, this time more flowery and luxurious than the intimate union they carried out in a discreet civil court in New York in June of last year. The British actress and the American actor, both 55 years old, have said “I do” surrounded by family and with renowned guests such as interpreter Nicole Kidman.

The union between Watts and Crudup has been airtight. It is not known where or when the union was celebrated in the Mexican capital. Only through several posts uploaded to Instagram by Naomi’s photographer brother, Ben Watts, do we know that their wedding was in Mexico City. In the images the actress is seen in an elevator wearing a white dress and with a bouquet of blue flowers. Beside her, her 15-year-old daughter Kai and her niece Ruby, dressed as bridesmaids in champagne-colored gowns.

In the video uploaded by Ben two days ago, the Watts’ mother is seen giving a speech just before the wedding. “The ceremony is about to start in this fantastic place (…) the mothers are a little excited, understandably,” the woman said.

The leading actress of The impossible, the drama of a family during the tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia in 2004, for which Watts was nominated for an Oscar for the second time, brought luxury guests to her wedding. Among them, one of her best friends, Nicole Kidman. The multiple winner of acting awards, including a golden statuette for her role as Virginia Woolf in The hours, posted before the celebration a story lifting Watts up in the air accompanied by the phrase “his feet never touched the ground.” The other big star who came to Mexico City to celebrate the union was Justin Theroux, star of some famous David Lynch films such as inland empire and Mulholland Drive.

Watts and Crudup have been together since 2017, when they coincided in filming the series Gypsy. The relationship did not come to light until 2022 on a red carpet, and in 2023 they formalized their union in a small and discreet civil wedding in a courthouse in New York. Mexico City has been the place chosen to certify their love for the second time.
