A woman was shot dead by her “jealous” ex-boyfriend when she was ordering through the drive-thru window of a Chick-fil-A in Georgia.

The man later committed suicide, authorities said.

The Floryd County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Cassie Davis, 39.; and the victimizer as Anthony Wayne Green, 56. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. this Wednesday on Truett’s Shorter Avenue.

Green reportedly shot Davis three times with a revolver.

The Rome police report indicates that, at about 7 am, Green attacked Davis when she was in her car in the process of purchasing a warrant. food at Chick-fil-A.

Initial investigation indicates the man shot the woman and then himself.Debbie Burnett, assistant police chief for that city, told the Rome News-Tribune.

The body of one of the victims was recovered inside a gray SUV on Shorter Avenue.; the other on the outside of the vehicle near the self-service collection station.

Initially, authorities believed it was an accident as Davis’ car continued to move forward through the drive-thru.

“Prior to arriving (at the scene), officers received further information that the incident was a shooting rather than an accident,” Burnett said.

Due to the emergency, parts of the avenue were closed near the Horseleg Creek Road intersection.

“Community of Rome, a horrendous incident occurred in our restaurant this morning. at the moment, we we are cooperating with the Police that you are investigating. No other customer or team member was injured, but we joined the community in mourning…”, said Greg Major, general manager of the restaurant.

The restaurant reopened to the public the next day.

The victim’s mother Kathie Walters, described Green as a jealous man who persecuted his daughter.

He just couldn’t leave her alone“, he described. “That was one of the things that she told me yesterday, that he was following her,” said her mother.

added: “There was nothing evil in her.” “She was everyone’s friend”Walters pointed out.

The woman is survived by seven children between the ages of 5 and 18.. It is unclear if any of these were procreated with the suspect.
