Barcelona, Sep 6 (EFE).- Professor Montserrat Bacardí won this Wednesday the III Ricard Torrents Bertrana essay prize with The literary truth of Teresa Pàmiesthe first complete biography of the writer from Lleida, “profusely documented and based on her personal archives.”
War, exile, her Marxist convictions or the defense of freedom of expression mark this work on one of the most prolific Catalan authors of the 20th century, with fifty books to her credit and thousands of published articles, as reported by the Eumo editorial.
The book, of about 500 pages, is scheduled to be presented next Tuesday at the Setmana del Llibre en Català venue.
The prize was awarded at the Agustí Centelles Library in Barcelona, located in the Teresa Pàmies Cultural Center.
An avid reader of the work of Pàmies and an expert in Catalan exile literature, Montserrat Bacardí wanted to trace “her vital and artistic itinerary”, in a job that she began seven years ago considering that “she was a writer little attended by the academy”. . EFE
