The pitch clock rule, implemented since the start of the 2023 Major League Baseball season, will not undergo any changes for the postseason as reported this Sunday by the Executive Council of Major League Baseball.
In a meeting this Friday it was agreed not to make any changes to the pitching clock, which since its creation has sought to reduce the duration of Major League games, with positive results to date.
According to the attendance records that the league has received this campaign, MLB would be inclined to leave the new rule for the postseasontaking into account that the matches that will be played from the beginning of October are the most anticipated by all fans.
Likewise, they expressed that statistics have made it clear that both batters and pitchers have adapted to the regulations in the best way.
Major League Baseball has commented that Thanks to the pitch clock, games have been reduced in duration by an average of 25 minutesgoing from three hours and four minutes to two hours, thirty-nine minutes.
Although there is no official announcement as of yet, the rule is expected to remain in effect for the 2024 Major League Baseball season.
