Everything everywhere at the same time presents us with the adventures of Evelyn, an older woman who owns a laundry in the United States. Migrant and married to a man of the same origins, our protagonist fights against everyday life and its dissatisfactions. But one day she discovers that outside of her universe there are many other dimensions in which alternate versions of herself inhabit; a different version of her husband visits her, arguing that she may be the one to save the multiverse from a great threat. This is when Evelyn must start the journey, as well as making a series of decisions that will change the course of things. It is an absurd comedy that has succeeded without counting an exorbitant budget. The critics completely surrendered at their feet, assuring that we are facing an absolute classic of the seventh art.
During the recent delivery of the Golden Globes 2023, michelle yeoh and Ke Huy Quan they took home the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor accolades, reaching new milestones in their lives that they previously didn’t think possible, especially the latter. There are mega movies that suffer terrible losses, and yet they go on and on doing the same thing. It’s the studios that think that’s their comfort zone: these movies, the budgets go up, and they feel like the more violence, the more CGI, they’re going to be better, but the truth of the matter is that it’s not like that. It’s really telling stories. In Everything Everywhere All At Once, although we traveled through the multiple verses, the main theme was love. There is no sequel. We would just be doing the same thing.
