Grigor Dimitrov gained access to the semifinals of the Miami Masters by winning 6-2, 6-4 (in 1h 32m) over Carlos Alcaraz, who arrived with fantastic inertia to the quarter-final duel and suddenly went blind. The Spaniard, blurry for much of the match, failed to contain the Bulgarian’s attack and said goodbye to the tournament that he won two years ago. He tried to react in the final stretch, but was late. He will not be able to join that select club of players who have managed to link the Indian Wells and Miami trophies. The winner will face the German Alexander Zverev this Friday, who closed the gap to the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan in the previous round (6-3 and 7-5).
