The Mexican Santiago Giménez remains unstoppable at the start of the European football season. Thanks to precise aim, scoring five goals in four games with Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, The Aztec striker was recognized as the team’s best player during the month of August.
This is the second time that Giménez has received this recognition after having been designated “MVP” in March of this same year.
“Santiago Giménez has been chosen by the fans as the first Player of the Month this season. The striker had a clear preference with more than 31% of the votes,” Feyenoord reported in a statement.
In his first campaign with Feyenoord, the Mexican finished with more than 23 goals in all competitions. In the Eredivisie he scored 15 goals in 32 games, of which he started 21 games.
In the 2023-2024 season, Feyenoord will participate in the Champions League, a tournament where the Mexican will have the opportunity to show all his talent. However, Giménez will miss the first two games of the group stage due to the expulsion suffered in the Europa League, where he finished with a record of five goals.
Feyenoord will resume the Eredivisie on September 16 against Heerenveen and then make its debut on September 19 against Celtic in the group stage of the Champions League.
