Marta García came in third place in the 5,000 meters event and won the bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships. This is the first medal for the Spanish delegation in the continental competition, based in Rome, after, in the afternoon, Laura García Caro missed the bronze in the last moments of the 20 kilometer walk test. Battocletti took the gold and Grovdal took the silver.
