Michael Haight, 42, was being investigated for abuse childhood when he shot his family earlier this year and then killed himself.

Police also released chilling footage from a camera during the January 4 shooting, showing officers entering the quiet family home in the small southwestern Utah town of Enoch.

In his bizarre suicide note, Haight portrayed himself as the victim and blamed it on his wife, Tausha, the Daily Mail reported.

“This is nonsense and I can’t handle it for another day. We will not be a burden to society. I kept asking for help and you didn’t listen to me.” Haight supposedly wrote. “I’d rather rot in hell than put up with another day of this manipulation and control over me.”

Haight fatally shot her daughters Macie, Briley, Sienna, and her sons Ammon and Gavin, as well as Tausha’s mother, 78-year-old Gail Early.

Tausha had been planning to file for divorce from Haight when he killed her and the rest of her family.

News of the suicide note comes after documents obtained by the Deseret News through a public records request detailed how Haight took firearms from the home, was investigated on suspicion of abuse and searched online for “shot in a house” before the murders.

Social workers went to the Haight home in Enoch on December 19, two weeks before the shooting, to investigate an allegation against the family’s 7-year-old son, Ammon, who Michael reportedly knocked to the ground in a fit. of anger.

Authorities had opened an investigation into the family 11 days earlier based on allegations of abuse involving the couple’s eldest daughter, according to reports.

She asked social workers not to interview her husband until after she filed for divorce, which she did on December 21.
