At least four people died this Thursday, including the attacker, after a multiple shooting occurred in Moultrie, a town in Georgia, in the southeastern United States.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed the news to local outlet CBS News, and Colquitt County Coroner C. Verlyn Brock noted that one of the dead is the attackerwho murdered his mother and grandmother, in their respective homes.
After this, he moved to an establishment of the McDonald’s chain where he shot and killed a woman who was an assistant manager and then committed suicide. The attacker has not yet been identified by authorities.
GBI had previously reported that “multiple incidents” involving fatalities were being investigated.
The event occurs one day after another shooting in the city of Atlanta, also in Georgia, after a man allegedly murdered one person and injured four others.before being detained several hours later.
The United States has experienced at least 192 mass shootings so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines mass shootings as those in which four or more people are killed, not including the perpetrator of the attack.
