The NFL announced Monday that the Levi’s Stadium of the San Francisco 49ers was chosen as the venue for Super Bowl LX in 2026.
The news was expressed by the commissioner of the NFL, Roger Goodell, during the spring meeting held in Minneapolis.
“We look forward to working with the 49ers and the Bay Area Host Committee to create an impactful Super Bowl LX in 2026,” Goodell said.
This way San Francisco will host the NFL title game again, 10 years after Super Bowl 50in which the Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 24-10.
It is worth noting that this is the second Super Bowl to be held at Levi’s Stadium, after its opening in 2014.
“We are honored to host the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium once again and to be the administrators of one of the biggest sporting events in the world”, said the president of the San Francisco 49ers.
On the other hand, the executive director of the Bay Area Host Committee, Zaileen Janmohamed, indicated that the 2026 show at Levi’s Stadium will be great, as It will also host several World Cup matches in Mexico, the United States and Canada..
The 2024 Super Bowl LVIII will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas (Nevada) and the LIX edition will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans (Louisiana).
It was also announced at the NFL owners meeting that the 2025 Draft will be held in Green Bay.
