Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is the mayor of Suplex City, but that doesn’t make him the king of maneuver. In a Q&A with Monthley Puroresu, former WCW Women’s Champion Madusa (Alundra Blayze) – who is credited with introducing the move to American women’s wrestling – thinks Lesnar is a danger when he tip.

“It scares me every time I see Brock Lesnar try to do a suplex,” Madusa said. “I shudder every time. Brock does that… whatever he calls “German.” I scream every time. I say, “Suplex City, my ass. “That’s not a German suplex!”

According to the WWE Hall of Famer, her mentors in Japan taught her how to perform the maneuver correctly, saying that the movement requires enormous precision to avoid injury to the opponent. Madusa’s opponents were few during his time in WWE and WCW.

The former champion recently lamented the dearth of talent in her era, calling it a “lost era” of women’s wrestling.

“There wasn’t much, my list was two people, you know?” Madusa pointed out. In the WWF locker room, Madusa worked primarily with Japanese legend Bull Nakano and American comedy wrestler Bertha Faye.

Despite the quality over quantity aspect of her era, Madusa believes that much of her progress was undone by later generations, and recently said that Trish Stratus and her fellow wrestlers made women’s wrestling a “sideshow.”

“Trish made room for the Bella Twins and others,” Madusa said, “but I built a foundation for the 4 Horsewomen.”
