Kentucky Governor Says Two Friends of His Died in Louisville Bank Shooting | The USA Print

The Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear said two close friends were killed in the shooting from a bank in Louisville.

“This is awful. I have a very close friend who didn’t make it today, and I have another close friend who didn’t make it either,” Beshear said during a news conference.

Beshear went to the scene of the attack on Monday morning.where he said that another friend is injured and hoped that he would recover.

The Democratic governor affirmed that this branch is the bank that he goes to regularly.

This morning four people were killed by a shooter, who also died at the scene, in addition to eight people being injured, including two police officers, who are being treated in hospitals.

Meanwhile, the Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, a senator from Kentucky, expressed feeling “devastated” by the events at the Old National Bank branch.

“Elaine and I are devastated by the news that came out of Louisville this morning,” McConnell tweeted. “Thank you to the LMPD and our first responders for their bravery on the scene. We send our prayers to the victims, their families, and the City of Louisville as we await further information.”

Also Sen. Rand Paul, another Kentucky Republican, sent “prayers.”

“Kelley and I are praying for everyone involved in the deadly shooting in downtown Louisville this morning. Our hearts are broken for the families of the deceased,” she said.

Police confirmed that two officers were injured.
