In addition to Trump, the spotlight in the case had focused on the adult film actress, stormy daniels. However, another woman has turned up: Karen McDougal.
After the photos of Stormy Daniels were made public during the media trial, images of a former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, have emerged.
McDougal affirms that, like Daniels, he had extramarital relations with the former president, which lasted, he says, about 10 months.
The former president has flatly denied this assertion.
Who is Karen McDougal?
Originally from Indiana, McDougal began her modeling career in her early 20s.
She was part of the Playboy girls, winning the Playmate award in 1998 and was placed as a favorite after the icon of the time, Pamela Anderson.
She was featured in Men’s Fitness magazine in 1999, becoming the first woman to grace the cover of the publication.
In addition to sharing parties and outings with other stars of the time, she was protected from Hugh Hefner, the magnate of the bunny house.
Around the year 2006, from the New Yorker publication it emerged that McDougal met Trump while an episode of “The Apprentice” was being recorded.
According to the former model’s testimony, Trump was already married but that was not an impediment to flirting with her and insisting on having a relationship.
McDougal says he agreed and they had a 10-month affair, meeting at least five times a month.
The woman told CNN that the relationship was by mutual agreement.
Months before the presidential election, McDougal made a deal with the National Enquirer for $150,000.
This included telling his story exclusively to the outlet. The events, says McDougal, took place in 2016.
One of the clauses established in the agreement was not to speak publicly about the alleged adventure
Over the years, the article never came to light and the conclusion the former model came to is that she was tricked into keeping quiet about her affair with Trump.
Just a couple of years ago, the US Federal Election Commission, the body that monitors campaign finance law enforcement, made a finding.
The Enquirer publisher broke election laws by paying royalties to McDougal’s story and never making it public.
The amount paid to Ms. McDougal during the 2016 presidential election was revealed to be an illegal campaign contribution.
The consequences: The National Enquirer was fined $187,500.
In 2018, McDougal issued a public apology to Melania Trump for the alleged affair with her husband.
“I’m sorry. I wouldn’t want them to do it to me, ”she said at the time.
However, Trump has stood his ground and continues to deny it.
Everything about McDougal is in the District Attorney’s Statement of Facts, which is provided as background information on the case.
