The actor, along with Beck, his entourage and security personnel, booked the entire restaurant for a private gathering on Sunday, June 5.

Operations manager Mo Hussain told The Independent that the group did not seem to be celebrating anything, but had gone to the restaurant for “a little treat to get away from everything that has been going on.”

He confirmed that the restaurant was closed to the public on the night of Depp’s meeting.

Hussain added that it was a “once in a lifetime experience” for the Varanasi staff, and that they will remember it “for the rest of our lives.”
