The 24-year-old actress Joey King married 30-year-old filmmaker Steven Piet this weekend. The ceremony took place in Mallorca, Spain, and the details were shared exclusively by ‘Vogue’ magazine.
King is remembered for starring in the romantic comedy ‘The Kissing Booth’ (‘The Kissing Booth’), a Netflix production, alongside Jacob Elordi. Furthermore, it must be remembered that King and Elordi began a romantic relationship after finishing the first installment of the film in 2017, but their courtship ended a year later.
Shortly after The American actress met Piet on the set of the series ‘The Act’, from Hulu. According to ‘Vogue’, the two established a friendship because of how well they worked together. Shortly after she asked him out and that’s where their whole love story began.
From the recording set of a series they went to a magical place in Mallorca, Spain, where they got married. He asked her to marry him during a walk in Joshua TreeCalifornia.
Since they started planning the wedding, they knew they wanted to do it outside of the United States. During the search for the dreamed place they came across La Fortaleza in Mallorca, an exclusive mansion where high-level weddings take place. Joey told ‘Vogue’ that when they saw the place they thought it was the Spanish version of ‘The Great Gatsby’.
This property dates back to 1628 and was built as a fortress to defend the area. Several years later, served as the setting for the series ‘The Night Manager’, produced by the BBC. Currently it is mostly known for being “the most exclusive wedding venue in the entire country”according to its own website.
In this same place, other stars have married, such as Helen Lindes with the basketball player Rudy Fernández, and the tennis player Rafa Nadal with Mery Perelló.
Over the years the place has been transformed, but It still maintains part of its original medieval-style structure. All this surrounded by extensive green areas that even declared it a natural park.
Each space in the venue has the potential to be the perfect setting for any wedding, something that King and his partner noticed immediately.
