Soccer player Jennifer Hermoso returned to Mexico after winning the World Cup with the Spanish Women’s National Team and the controversy of the kiss without his consent of Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Hermoso reported to the discipline of Club Pachuca and the Women’s MX League welcomed the Spanish world champion for her great achievement in Australia – New Zealand 2023.
Liga MX Femenil wrote in the statement: “Welcome Jenny! In the BBVA MX Women’s League we are very happy to have you back homeWe are very proud that you return as champion and together with the love of your fans in Mexico we want to see you shine on the pitch”.
Hermoso lived one of his best sporting moments last August, being one of the figures that gave Spain its first women’s world title, beating England in the final of the Australia and New Zealand 2023 World Cup.
However, in celebration of the achievement, Luis Rubiales, then president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), gave him a non-consensual kiss on the mouth, something that sparked outrage in the world.
Pachuca statement
For his part, Pachuca pointed out: “We want to share that our soccer player and world champion, Jenni Hermoso, has returned to our country to rejoin Club Pachuca (…) Jenni herself told us that she is very happy to return to the activity with the Tuzas, motivated by the recent championship obtained with the Spanish team”.
Las Tuzas assured that the Madrilenian will have their “institutional, emotional and personal” support so that she is ready to debut in the championship with her team, tenth place in the standings after nine days.
With Hermoso, Pachuca recovers one of its two most important footballers, who last tournament helped them qualify to the Clausura 2023 finalwhich the Tuzas lost to the Águilas del América led by Spanish coach Ángel Villacampa.
Between the regular phase and the final phase of the last tournament, she scored 21 goals, which made her the top scorer for her team along with Charlyn Corral.
The Spanish will join a squad reinforced by the Costa Rican World Cup player Priscila Chinchilla, and in which the Panamanian Marta Cox, the leader of Panama in Australia and New Zealand, also stands out.
